Hello Uncle Charlie! I wanted to thank you for your wonderful stories, and the wealth of information you've provided. I've learned so much from you; and so have my students. Let me explain- I'm the coordinator, and an instructor, at the Maui Language Institute (we're part of VITEC, at MCC). We insist that our students, who come from all over the world, learn something about this island besides the fact that it's sunny most of the time and you can surf here. Over the past two years, my students have read some of your stories, and I've explained (as best I could!) some of the Hawaiian mana'o i'o to them, thanks to your explanation.
So- don't be surprised if some day you visit Japan (or Korea, or Switzerland, or Argentina.....!) and people recognize your name..!
