Aloha Uncle Charlie! My name is Kalani and I was wondering if you could help me out with some questions regarding a poi pounding board. First of all, I was interested in making my self one. Second, I was going to use Ohia wood and I wanted to know how long after I cut my log do I let the wood dry out before I start to shape my board? Or, do I cut the shape of the board out of the log as soon as I get it and then dry it out? This is pretty much going to be my first wood project and I want it to come out right. Any suggestions or ideas? Anyone you know on Oahu who can give me more information? Thanks uncle Charlie. Aloha
