: Aloha Uncle, I was wondering about the new nation of Hawaii.
: Would it be returned to a monarchy? If so, who is the heir
: apparant to the Ali'i throne? Are there more than one? Or is there
: only one person left? I'm not even sure this is a valid question. Mahalo
: in advance for your patience and help.
: A hui hou malama pono, Gene

Aloha Gene, its a good question, but I dont think anyone can answer it at this time. Personally, I think that when it happens, it has to be a system that is democratic in nature, that the majority of the peoples will shall dictate the type of government they will have. Also the days of the Monarcy is over. I do not believe that we will return to the days of the Ali'i because so many people decended from Royal Blood. If we every have a Sovereign Government, it should be one that reflects the culture, the spiritual values of land which focuses on sharing with each other and treating the land as the bases of our culture, which is the opposite of the Western values. Only then will we be able to be recognized by other nations in the world, Aloha Uncle Charlie
