: On July 31, 1998, we want a Hawaiian ceremony performed on our
: construction site. We have heard it is called the Po Mai Kai
: Ceremony and that it's purpose is to ask the Gods to watch over
: the workers and the grounds. We would like any information
: you have about this ceremony.

The correct spelling is Pomaika'i and means "blessing". Let me caution you that if the person is not a Kanaka Maoli(Native Hawaiian), then this process is not something that we take lightly. If the person performing the blessing does not know what he or she is doing, then instead invoking blessing, it could work the opposite and bring bad luck. I know because I am a practitioner of the art. Aloha Uncle Charlie
